Background: Earlier this year,Eugenio DiMeosubmitted his resignationasthe Director of Development & Community Services to accept a position with the County of Elgin. Following an independent confidential report from Performing Concepts Consulting, on September 3, 2020, the Council agreed to modify the existing job description of the position and initiate a recruitment process for a Director of Development Services. Comments/Analysis: The Municipal Staff immediately initiated a recruitment process by circulating a Posting Notice for this position with the following: AMCTO Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers Municipal World OPPIOntario Professional Planners Institute Aylmer Express Township of Malahide Websiteand Facebook. 4 The closing for this Posting was12:00 noon on October 1, 2020.Twelve (12) applications have been received. The Municipal Staff are currently reviewing the applications and will be selecting 4-5qualified applicantsto interview. In accordance with Council policies, when a Director level position is being recruited, a Committee of Council comprised of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and one additional Council Member will sit with the Chief Administrative Officer and HR Coordinator to form the Recruitment Committee. Such Recruitment Committee will be responsible for interviewing prospective candidates and making a recommendation to the Council with regard to the preferred candidate. In order to expedite the recruitment process, the Council is being asked to determine which Council Member will participate in the interview process. either a Professional Planner or a Directorto participate in the candidate interviews as a technical resource. Financial Implications to Budget: N/A.
